Commercial Garage Door Springs

Pictured here is a commercial garage door spring. This spring is broke in the center and will need to be replaced. Commercial springs are made from a heavier duty steel so they have the ability to assist in lifting a large commercial garage door like the one pictured below:

The commercial garage door torsion spring is generally a two spring setup on large commercial garage doors. The size of the spring can vary as well as the cycles of use. The commercial garage door spring can have a cycle life of up 25,000 cycles.

Torsion garage door springs are wound with tension and special tools. The springs are wound 1 full revolution per foot height of the garage door. For example, if the garage door is 7 foot tall, the garage door needs to be wound seven full revolutions and the garage door is wound in quarters. We do not recommend changing any garage door springs yourself. Get a professional to do it, the springs can cause bodily harm if you do not have the right tools for the job!
