The LiftMaster belt drive opener is on our main home, we also have LiftMaster on our large commercial doors, as well as Linear and Chamberlain out in our other garages. The garage door opener function is to push and pull the garage door up and down the track. The pushing and pulling is made possible by the garage door spring tension lifting the garage door. The light bulbs inside of your garage door opener can also effect the range of your garage door remote. We do not recommend using a CFL or LED light bulb because the range is severely shortened. You can get regular light bulbs at any store. The reason the CFL and LED bulbs shorten the range is because they interfere with the garage door signal. So if you are experiencing a shortened range, check your light bulbs.
