Fake Reviews

Can reviews help or hurt a business?

We believe that reviews can help and hurt a business. If you get enough negative reviews, your business could fall in rankings. If you get enough good reviews, your business could climb high in rankings. So what is a good mix? We think a few bad reviews mixed in with some good reviews helps your business seem real, and you know that the bad reviews aren't faked! No one in their right mind is going to post bad reviews about their own business!

We of course scour the internet for reviews and see what some of our competitors are doing. We've taken notice of companies that have went up on the internet that are fairly new that all of a sudden have all five star reviews everywhere. Of course that company most likely hired a SEO company to get their website ranked higher.

Grove City Garage Door has been in business for over 18 years, and every review you see online are real reviews. There are very few because in the infancy stages of our business, the internet was in it's infancy stages. Do you remember what you were doing on the internet in 1998? Uh probably nothing! We were just starting out in the market and we wanted to make sure we were on the internet, so we created www.grovecitygaragedoor.com in 1998! Who would have believed that 18 years ago you were going to depend on the internet to either make or break your business??

We are very pleased to say that the large part of our customers are word of mouth customers! We get some customers from the internet or some from seeing our vehicles around town, but most of our customers are repeat customers that were referred by a friend!

So if you are one of our customers and are reading this blog, go leave a review somewhere for us!

Paint a Garage Door

Lately we have had a couple of customers that have painted their garage doors. The results have been bad because the customers did not adhere to a certain type of paint.

Keep in mind that garage doors come in a variety of colors and can be ordered to match just about any paint scheme, exterior decoration, and color. So painting a garage door can be an added expense and can get more expensive if you do not use the correct kind of paint.

What is acrylic paint?

Acrylic paint is a fast drying water soluble paint that becomes water resistant when dry.  Acrylic paint will not crack or stick together. Acrylic paint comes in a gloss or matte finish, and cannot be removed once it is applied. The acrylic paint adheres to the surface.

DO NOT use a latex paint on a garage door, your door will stick in the seams!

How to paint the garage door:

Before painting any surface, thoroughly wash the surface with warm water and soap!

You can keep your garage door closed to paint the main parts of the panels. Avoid painting the seams and the insides of the seams unless you open the door a little at time to paint the seams.

Just remember you can choose any color of garage door without the added expense of paint!

What's New and Ongoing?

At Grove City Garage Door Inc. there has been a lot going on this past fall and winter. If you have paid attention to our web-site, we have taken a few people to court for using our trademark online. Court is not fun and not something we are interested in continually pursuing in the future! Since we have started the court battles, we have finally gotten people to stop being confused as to who the heck Grove City Garage Door really is!

Other ongoing news, we have been working with some new builders this year, expanding our horizons, and looking for new people! Keep checking back to more updates to come! We are expanding our service area in the Great Lakes region this year! We will start servicing Put-In-Bay, Catawaba Island, Port Clinton, and we can also service Peelee Island!

Currently we are running specials, get a 16x7 garage door installed for $850.00 or a 8x7 garage door installed for $595.00! If your garage door was smashed by the recent snow plowing, then we have a door for you!
